Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure used to diagnose and treat joint problems. The Arthroscopy Procedure
Performed under spinal or general anaesthesia. Small portals (cuts) are made around the joint. The arthroscope is inserted through one portal while surgical instruments go through others. The surgeon views the joint on a monitor and performs necessary repairs. The procedure typically takes 30–90 minutes.
Recovery After Arthroscopy
- Home same day or next morning
- Crutches for 1–2 weeks (for lower limb surgery)
- Return to desk work: 1–2 weeks
- Return to sports: 4–12 weeks depending on procedure
