Why Thyroid Testing Matters
The thyroid gland controls metabolism, energy levels, heart rate, and many other body functions. Thyroid disorders are extremely common – hypothyroidism affects 1 in 10 adults in India. At Dashvanth Healthcare Delhi, we offer comprehensive thyroid function testing.
Thyroid Hormones

- Produced by the pituitary gland to control thyroid hormone production
- Normal range: 0.4–4.0 mIU/L
- High TSH: Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid)
- Low TSH: Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid)
- Best single test for thyroid function screening
Free T4 (fT4)
- Main hormone produced by the thyroid
- Normal range: 0.8–1.8 ng/dL
- Low fT4 + High TSH: Primary hypothyroidism
- High fT4 + Low TSH: Hyperthyroidism
Free T3 (fT3)
- Active form of thyroid hormone
- Normal range: 2.3–4.2 pg/mL
- Checked when T3 toxicosis suspected
