Types of Hip Replacement
Total Hip Replacement

Hip Resurfacing
The femoral head is reshaped and capped rather than removed. Suitable for younger, more active patients.
The Hip Replacement Procedure
Under spinal or general anaesthesia, an incision is made at the side or back of the hip. The damaged femoral head and acetabular cartilage are removed. Prosthetic components are fixed using cement or press-fit technique. Surgery takes 1.5–2.5 hours.
